A few from my journal..........

I am beginning on journal number 4. I actually need to buy a better one, this one does not take watercolour. I must get another like the others. I suppose I could use this one for pencil and crayons.
Well, I have found that the pictures do not photograph well. The colour is never good but ah well.
I have been doing a lot of faces and enjoying doing it. I actually like this one.

I like to exaggerate the eyes. Its not realistic I know, but I am into fantasy, fairies and such. So for me anything goes.

Then there is the more comic book style that I thought would do well as a childrens illustration.

Again I am not going for realism here. I am still working on my more relaxed method (smile)

I love Laurie's owls (I love a cloudy day) so I took a look at a picture I had and made an attempt. Not very good I am afraid. See.........I am trying too hard again. I got too involved and pulled back too late so its neither loose nor realistic but here it is

and this one was no better...........I think I must sketch a better picture to begin with. Some things I just can not do without overdoing.

I did a lot more, I filled a book but they do not copy well via the camera and they are not that great to begin with...........so I will save for another day when I have more courage to post them.

Romantic pictures.

While I look for some pretty pictures to insert among the Bluebell pictures on my Facebook page. I thought I would share some here. I am enjoying working on two pages other than my normal Facebook page. I have Bluebell Woods that has over 6000 followers and one called Cat's Galore that has about 40 haha. I love the Bluebell Woods page, people love the Bluebells. Well, it would get rather boring if that was all I show, so I had to find something else to go on there as well and so far it seems to be working. Here are a few of the lovely paintings I have found.

I don't know the artists or I would give credit. I found them on the web for those who are interested I am sure it would be easy to find.

Friends garage sale.........

It's that time of year. Garage sales. My friend Nancy just had one and called me to go over. I did. Here are 3 things I bought. There are many more things but I will save those for another post. I got several Christmas items that I just put away for now. The other things were for the garden. So will probably show those when I sort them on the garden blog.
Well, first of all I got these two lovely little dishes.


I think they are lovely don't you?
The next thing is this pink dish. It's not perfect, it has a small chip on its rim. For that reason I intend to use it as a planter. I think I will put some cactus or succulents in it.



The next thing I will show is a lovely tray. Nancy loves to finish wood items and she does such a lovely job. I was looking for a nice tray just this size. Sometimes its handy to take drinks into the living room, coffee, snacks and so on. So that was actually on my list of things to look out for. Could not have done better than this.


Well, I will have to remember what else I found, but I do believe it was mainly Christmas stuff. What a surprise when I open it all up next year.

Kokopelli.........

So today I did some colour washes that reminded me of the desert. Well not exactly washes because I didn't graduate them properly. I just slapped colour on.

Then I did some green and blue washes.



This one took awhile for me to find the picture in the washes. I came up with some mer-people and penciled them in........so I still have to complete this when I figure out how.

A few more pictures from journal number 3.......

I am still working on my art journals. Same thing really. I gather inspiration from what others do and from pictures I find. A few are just my own imaginings.


I liked making a stamped on background to just make it a little different



I found it difficult to remember what Tulips looked like haha, anyway, I made a couple of attempts


The next done with coloured pencils.


This little picture was a practice from a book of watercolour projects, I modified it somewhat and then one of my favorite poems came to mind.


This one was just made up, a misty morning. Then I did a poem to go with it but only wrote the first 4 lines.

This next one is another made up picture and its a practice for white flowers, to make them stand out from the background.


I did several more but will save for another post. I really appreciate it when I get some criticism because that helps me see what I do not. I love your comments
