This part of my blog is all about the things I collect or the things I make myself. I love so many things, I paint and draw and want to learn oils and pastels. I knit and crochet but want to learn tatting. I embroider and can turn my hand to most things given a chance. So much still to learn and do. I live in hope of some day reading all my books, learning all I want to learn and now I am learning to blog. You will often find my original poems, poor as they are I offer them here. I also appreciate other people art and will feature things I find that I have enjoyed. That includes pictures of fairies and fantasy or maybe just anything beautiful.
I try to use my own photo's as much as possible, sometimes I borrow from the web. If I inadvertently use your picture without giving credit, please do let me know and I will either credit or remove it, I hope you will do the same with mine.
If you wish to leave comments on my blog you can do that by joining google if you do not have a blog yourself, please comment if you can I appreciate that.

Drawing...........today is the day.
Well its Friday. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving for those who are Americans or living in the States. We had family here. Great dinner, my favourite. I love a turkey roast with all the fixins.
My drawing is going to be simple. Only 7 entries. So it will be informal. I have written the names down and will now put them in a dish.
Tristen will do the honour of pulling a name out. They will all be folded and shuffled before going into the dish. So here we go
Gerry holds the dish while Tristen picks the winner
....and the winner is.....
Would Stephanie at "The Enchanted Rose" please email me Espirit46@chartermi.net and I will get the address and mail the book out for you on Saturday or whenever I get an address.
Thank you to all who participated. We will now get back to regular blogging. I will be doing a give away on my other two blogs pretty soon, so do keep checking in.

my very first giveaway................
This is my first time at this so forgive me if I am not an expert. I am offering this book, just in time to do some Christmas projects.
All you have to do to enter is to leave a comment and it would be nice if you would follow me.
While you are here you may notice I have two other blogs that you may find interesting. Its not a requirement but I would love it if you would check them out too.
I will run this giveaway until next Friday and will choose the winner then from who ever has left comments. Depending on how many people leave comment will depend on how I choose, either by the on line random number thingie or by putting the names in a hat sort of thing. Good Luck. At that time I will need your address in order to mail it to you.
I didn't do a very good job of cropping the picture but I think you can see it well enough. I will show a couple of pictures from inside.
In case you wonder why I am giving this book away. Well I belong to a book club and I sent for this book and then found I already had it and so it seemed like the ideal time to have a giveaway.Drawing will be on Friday 23rd Nov

Tea Time.......
Tea Time....the ritual? or what is it?
In England its a way of life. In America its romanticized and people seem to love the thought of the tradition. Really, its not anything like all the lovely pictures I will be showing, not in my circles. How can I explain........well, maybe back in the olden days, when the nobility was more noble.......when things were more formal in every day life. More in the fancy houses.......then maybe one would see some of the settings I am going to show you.
Most regular people had a set of "good" china. Saved and dusted and brought out for company. Most people never used them and they were passed down intact to the next generation. Then in my day things changed. My mum did not want any of my grandmothers things. She wanted the "modern" stuff. Mugs replaced china. There was no good china to be handed down and what they got they either gave away or threw out.
The war time changed things and it changed forever. I remember mum giving away my Nan's glass cabinet and a Victorian glass globe with a stuffed bird in it. I wanted that. They wanted a new age, not the stuffy Victorian or Edwardian days. Women worked now and there was no time for all the pretty things. They all needed work that the women no longer had time for. Silver if you had it had to be polished and so stainless steel took over.
So every day life became different, and although the tradition of having a cuppa still remained it was very informal. No tea parties, or garden parties not in our lives. The upper classes probably still did all those things. It was expected I suppose.
Maybe things will change back, but to be honest most working people are way too busy.
Enjoy some pictures of times gone by (not my pictures but ones I have found on the web, no copyright infringement intended and if you own any of the pictures email me for credit or removal)
Now I have collected quite a bit of China myself because like a lot of people now, I like to be reminded of the past.
When one goes out to tea, ah, then the time goes backwards........then you get the fine china. Then you get the pretty sandwiches and the cakes.
There are many pretty books on this subject and they make good coffee table books. There is a whole cult of interest on the subject.
There are also small books that are very pretty and they too are very popular. The cake making has become a hobby too.
I hope you enjoy these pictures...........and I hope you are one of the ladies who still enjoy this ritual, bring it back. If you ever get to England please do go for a wonderful Cream Tea

Beauty is in the EYE of the beholder...............
I have always loved eye make up. I grew up when Cleopatra was the big movie. We copied the hair style and the eyes. Liz Taylor was at her best and Richard Burton was yummy and they were the hottest item in Hollywood.
I have chosen some extreme make ups for eyes to share here. I love them but of course its all in the eye of the beholder. I know its not for everyday and maybe never but...........fantasy. It's beautiful.
I would think the feathers tickle. You would need this lovely flawless skin to carry this off.
I am sure that the theatre is where most of my examples are shown off or on the runway maybe.
The next one is not too extreme and I would have worn this for New Year many many years ago.
Pure fantasy
This one is not too extreme and very pretty
The Snow Queen
This one is my granddaughter Reina with her face painting. Its not a lot different really, same idea.
I found many more that were just as pretty but can only show so many, thanks to all the artists and models for such lovely work.
I am linking with Smiling Sally for Blue Monday.....thanking her for her generouse hosting of this party every week.
