Silly cats.
My Geraniums in coloured pencil.
Fantasy
Violets and quotes
I can't resist writing a poem to fill the gap.
I like the idea of a children's book. Wish I knew how. I have always enjoyed the illustrations in many of them.
This part of my blog is all about the things I collect or the things I make myself. I love so many things, I paint and draw and want to learn oils and pastels. I knit and crochet but want to learn tatting. I embroider and can turn my hand to most things given a chance. So much still to learn and do. I live in hope of some day reading all my books, learning all I want to learn and now I am learning to blog. You will often find my original poems, poor as they are I offer them here. I also appreciate other people art and will feature things I find that I have enjoyed. That includes pictures of fairies and fantasy or maybe just anything beautiful.
I try to use my own photo's as much as possible, sometimes I borrow from the web. If I inadvertently use your picture without giving credit, please do let me know and I will either credit or remove it, I hope you will do the same with mine.
If you wish to leave comments on my blog you can do that by joining google if you do not have a blog yourself, please comment if you can I appreciate that.

my journal again......
This poor old Cardinal. I thought I was doing a good job but then when I look at it now, well he looks like he is constipated or something. He is so "stiff"....I must try again. I hope you all appreciate my failures. I filled that book up and have got another one now. Meanwhile I am working on an old sketchbook I have had a long time. In both books I have enjoyed so much doing, there is really nothing outstanding, nothing I would frame. I suppose I am too much of a perfectionist. I want to do something worthwhile. None of these things will get beyond my sketchbook/journal. Some are copied from others pictures that are painting in a style I like, they are only for me to use for practice and no other reason. So if you see anything you recognize I was admiring the work and trying to do as well. I have failed but its been fun. Unfortunately the Cardinal was all mine. I keep looking at him, I think its his feet that are the worst. Maybe I can fix them????
well I went and scrubbed his tail and put it on the proper side of the log and cut off his feet. Does not look quite so constipated now but certainly not relaxed enough.
This little phrase I saw somewhere and added it to the cup and saucer in my sketchbook..............
This is a sketch that I copied from a book I was reading.
Just a leaf......
This is something I copied from a magazine and changed it for myself.
This I saw on a blog and although I didn't copy it, this was not my original idea. I liked it and drew my own version.
The poor rabbit is eating a daisy, he looks like he has a ribbon under his chin........
Tea again.....
More flowers
This is something I painted on a paper bag, I cut it out and put it in my book. Thats why it looks strange
For someone who likes owls (smile) I gave it a shot.
I am sharing this
and linking with Spring fling at Flamingo Toes.

Pink for spring............
You can not go wrong with pink at any time of year but........ah its so pretty in Springtime. When the pink roses bloom its nothing but enchantment
A pale pink bedroom would be cool especially in the early heat.
A few more delicate rooms to marvel over.
Perfection.........wonder how long it would stay looking that way?
Then there is the china to go with it all.............I do so like pink

Chicken Tetrazzini..........................
I am trying to do a new recipe (to me) at least once a week. I have to justify all the cook books I buy somehow. Besides the same old fare gets a tad boring and my husband does not mind trying something new. Lets face it, he likes his food and is not fussy.
So this week I tried the Chicken Tetrazzini that was in the latest book I bought.
I will put the complete recipe at the bottom of the post. That way I can be sure you get it right. I wish I knew how to make it printable so if anyone knows please do let me know OK.
You will need
(see list at the end)
I cooked spaghetti the night before and so I saved some cooked spaghetti for this. You chop the celery, prepare mushrooms ( I peel them) Chop green peppers and onion and cook that in butter. It looks so pretty.
Add the spices and the Sherry and Worcestershire sauce, garlic, pimientos. Add flour, milk and cheese stir it all well so cheese is melted and blended. (be sure to follow directions at the bottom)
Its looking good, add the chicken and make sure its all mixed well. (heat the oven now)
I had to taste it at this point. My advice is not not substitute the Sherry as I did and I think the black pepper was a bit much but then I never do measure things well, so that may have been me. Next add the spaghetti and turn it in with the rest of the ingredients.
You prepare your dish for the oven by spraying with Pam..........pour your mixture into the dish and top with grated Parmesan cheese. It should look like this when done.
Enjoy it, we did.

Cant stop painting............
Blue and Orange.
The rest are just recent additions to my journal........I look forwards to doing a Spring journal.
Drawings
Dandilions......I have drawn several pictures of these. I was inspired by a beautiful blog by Roseanne Hayes.
I think there may be others that were inspired by her work and for that I am grateful. These pictures are only practice for me and in my journal. they are also altered from her originals and so not exactly copied, just an exercize in watercolour. The next is all my own.
Another drawing
Another floral.....these are done without any prior sketch, just paint on paper and then make up a picture from it.
And this little girl...........
Or a couple of cats
They all look better in my journal
