This part of my blog is all about the things I collect or the things I make myself. I love so many things, I paint and draw and want to learn oils and pastels. I knit and crochet but want to learn tatting. I embroider and can turn my hand to most things given a chance. So much still to learn and do. I live in hope of some day reading all my books, learning all I want to learn and now I am learning to blog. You will often find my original poems, poor as they are I offer them here. I also appreciate other people art and will feature things I find that I have enjoyed. That includes pictures of fairies and fantasy or maybe just anything beautiful.
I try to use my own photo's as much as possible, sometimes I borrow from the web. If I inadvertently use your picture without giving credit, please do let me know and I will either credit or remove it, I hope you will do the same with mine.
If you wish to leave comments on my blog you can do that by joining google if you do not have a blog yourself, please comment if you can I appreciate that.

It's the blues...........

I was looking for things that are beautiful and blue............I found that pink was easier. Yet blue is one of my favourite colours. It was just harder work to find the things I had hoped for. Here are some lovely gowns and things.......see what you think.
Blue flowers are always beautiful and when you get a great shot like this one, well it really shows the beauty.I would love to credit the photographer but I don't know who it is.

More lovelies...........

I am sort of recording some of these beautiful gowns for my own pleasure. I see them as works of art really. Especially the beaded ones. So much work put into them. I wonder what happens to them. I know those who buy them probably only wear them once or twice because they are so memorable but then what?
Most of what I am showing is Haute Couture.....that means lots and lots of money.
Look at this. Not sure what occasion would allow for the wearing of this but I think its awesome

Why do the models make themselves look so ghastly....love the dress

These silver gowns are wonderful

A short dress too, not so fond of the short styles these days but as its not for me, well she sure looks nice in it

The gold is beautiful too

I look for gowns with beading or beautiful use of fabrics. I liked these two

The gold one looks very Egyptian. The other is Celtic

I decided that I was a Magpie in a former life as I love glitter.

Not so fond of bright colours but I did find a few that I liked

How about shocking pink....or the Celtic robe?
 photo f502d114-0f33-4b1c-8d78-2338c3b55853_zpsc90a951d.jpg

The bead work and the silver is wonderful. I wonder what the fabric feels like? Is it scratchy?

 photo e5f32a86-2b2d-4dcf-905c-6ea36993fb7b_zpsc38e9257.jpg

These two are more elaborate and I think I would like the 2nd one without the slit up it.......but it looks great on the model.

 photo 94a49c4b-6f8d-4df4-a680-8899e23da6ca_zpsc67752a8.jpg

I am still not sure if I like the pink outfit, it looks like a 1950s or early 1960s outfit so I sort of like the fabric and style.........the red is just beautiful though. I wish they showed the rest of the dress

So there ya go, a few more beauties to drool over.

Pretty Things.....

I love the old styles, remember glamour? Remember when women dressed like women? I mean really........back when I was young we wore "an outfit" a "suit" along with a hat and gloves, matching bag and shoes. Even in the 1960s we followed fashion. Then I came to the States and it seemed like that was not done here where I landed. When I was in my teens and early 20s I loved the mini skirts and everything that was "In"............For this post I am looking back further than that to some antique dresses that are really wonderful. I hope everyone likes them and please do look at all the work in them. These are collected from around the web, some Facebook pages and Pinterest.

Imagine the work that went into the lace in that outfit, then look at the beadwork on the next one

 photo 8c704d09-a200-44c7-966d-c893b015b5ea_zps9891a08e.jpg
You would need a perfect figure for this one but I had to show it anyway
 photo 7f85d626-5ea3-4c90-b8b6-9ec5797cc8b9_zps7ca8568d.jpg
Probably for this one too...........but back in the days before hamburgers and fast foods people seemed to care more about those things.

 photo 16a7cb06-9bb6-4a09-98fc-df027d4a6879_zpsc8c9f937.jpg

I just loved this outfit........I can not imagine having to lace into gowns. I do remember having to wear corsets though and stockings.

 photo a28667ea-e190-47c0-8052-c2ab7b1414b5_zps31c32548.jpg

So lovely...........I remember my Mum having a "ball gown" it was black velvet and had cut outs around the neck with pink lace inserts. It was awesome.

These two are really lovely and I think maybe intended as bridesmaids dresses. They could be ball gowns though. I can imagine the rich and famous still going to balls.

When looking around for things to show I saw so many awesome gowns, it made me wonder at some of the stuff that the film stars of today wear. If I had the money honey, I would certainly not wear some of the things we see on the red carpet. Some women do have the sense of style though and I love to see them dressed up. Can you imagine being able to wear anything you wanted?

What would you choose?

Just a few of my choices, mainly neutral colours but if you care to delve again into some fantastic gowns in colours, then maybe next time......I will end with this one
